I'm new to the Bend and so far I must say that this is one of the friendliest places I'v ever lived. The people are for the most part are never into a huge rush and always have time to say "Hello" My question is I'm wondering if its cool to hang out and play for tips "i.e."street corner, some park, you know just hang and play your stuff.I'm not a begger just a guy trying to get along in the world.Any suggestions?P.S. COOL SITE GUYS.

I don't know if it's actually legal but I know people do it all the time. The official name for playing on the street is "Busking". I would suggest either downtown or in the old mill district. Another thing is that there ARE bums here that have guitars and they are not well received. If you are going to busk for serious then don't dress like a bum and don't sit on the street corner so people can hand you money out of cars. Put yourself forward as a street musician and not a bum. Find a empty shop doorway downtown or something and lay your guitar case open with a little donations sign and play well.
